Café de olla with chocolate – Vegan

The best coffee in Mexico, and my favorite, is sweet and flavored with orange zest, cinnamon, and brown sugar. What can make it better? Chocolate. This is not a hot chocolate flavored with coffee, I have another recipe for that here. This is a coffee flavored with all these things, including chocolate – the consistency is still that of coffee. Café de olla translates to coffee from the clay pot, which means that all the ingredients are boiled in a pot, as opposed to being prepared as an espresso or filtered coffee.

It is so easy – just place the water, coffee, cinnamon, and sugar in the pot. When it reaches a boil, turn off the heat and add the chocolate. Whisk and sieve into a cup.
