Ingredients
- 1 liter of water
- 12 medium guavas (lemon sized)
- 1 to 2 cups of sugar – if you have a scale, use the 25% of the weight of guava in sugar. S0 1 kilo of guavas can be sweetened with 250 grams of sugar. But this is your jam. Add more or less if you want.
Instructions
- Rinse guavas and cut in half.
- Place in blender with water and blend until all the fruit is liquid.
- Sieve into pot.
- Add sugar to pot.
- Boil on medium heat until the guava begins to thicken, about 30 minutes. There could be a lot of bubbling and guava jumping out of the pot. Be careful this is hot! Use a wooden spoon to mix every few minutes to avoid sticking and burning.
- Remove from heat, allow to cool and put in a jar.
- Refrigerate and enjoy within 2 weeks. You are able to preserve this for months but you need to know how to jar/can.
