MuCho- Mundo Chocolate is a new museum in Mexico City (Colonia Juarez) that is dedicated to the story of chocolate. It is a small museum housed in a very beautiful 100 year old home with a cafe, shop and offerings of chocolate classes. When I was there I saw a class for kids and they were learning to make metates from chocolate.
There is a small room that is lined top to bottom, side to side with drinking chocolate disks. The room is meant to hold one person and the door is closed behind you so you can breathe in all the chocolate scent.
Although it is a small museum, Mundo Chocolate is very detailed about cacao history, displaying cacao relics and creating art with chocolate related items. If you are into chocolate it is worth the visit.
I didn’t try anything in the cafe but I did buy some chocolate bars. As of 2014 they did not carry any bean-to-bar chocolates but they did have some interesting bars with Mexican flavors.
