Description
Delicate, aromatic, afternoon hot chocolate.
Ingredients
1/2 cup (120ml) of water
20 rose petals
1/2 cup (120ml) of milk
15 grams to 25 grams of 100% chocolate
15 grams (1 Tablespoon) sugar
Instructions
- Place the water and rose petal in a small pot and turn heat to medium. As soon as you see it boil, turn off heat and let the petals sit in the water for about 20 minutes.
- Remove rose petals from water and add milk, chocolate, and sugar if using.
- Turn heat on again, when it reaches a boil, turn off the heat, whisk the chocolate and serve. Top with rose petals.
Notes
All roses are different. Some are more fragrant than others. 20 petals where enough to give my hot chocolate a rose aroma, but your roses may be stronger or weaker. Adjust the quantity of rose petal accordingly. The longer you let them steep in the water, the more rose aroma will be released.
